Dave Matthews Band, an American rock band, was formed in 1991, in Charlottesville, Virginia. The band is often termed as DMB. Dave Matthews is the lead singer, songwriter and guitarist of the band. The other members include violinist Boyd Tinsley, drummer Carter Beauford and bassist Stefan Lessard. LeRoi Moore, the saxophonist was one of the founding members, who died in August, 2008. Dave Matthews Band is well known for their summer-long, nationwide annual tours. The tours feature lengthy improvisational renditions of their previous songs.
