The Derek Trucks Band has doubtlessly been one of the most amusing and enthralling music groups of our era. What makes the band different is its distinctive musical style which vividly incorporates elements of jazz, rock, blues and jazz with a hint of Eastern Indian and Latin music.
The Derek Trucks Band is named after the legendary guitarist Derek Trucks - the chief motivator who has been influential in putting together this diverse bunch of gifted musicians as one and producing some enchanting compositions. Derek still enjoys playing guitar without being swayed by superficiality. His memorable and tuneful profession was started at the tender age of nine when he made his debut playing an acoustic guitar. Initially he learned music from his father, and later joined other well known musicians near his fatherland.

Early on, Derek’s musical catalog was made up with much of blues kind of songs. This affinity to blues was attributed to the fact that he was heavily inspired by The Allman Brothers Band of which his uncle, the gifted drummer Butch Trucks, was one of the founding associate. In next to no time, the world saw Derek rising to fame as he began his quest in music. Derek’s remarkable obsession with music and his guitar was one main explanation for how he grew to be the youngest guitar player to be listed in the highly praised Rolling Stone’s famous list of “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time”.
