Keith Lionel Urban is a famous country music singer and songwriter from Australia. Born in October 26, 1967, he spent his formative days in New Zealand before relocating to Nashville. At the tender age of six, Urban learned the guitar and at the age of eight he stared winning talent contests. At twelve he was already playing in local clubs, and at fifteen he dropped out of school and dived deep into the music business.
He did his first solo in 1990 with EMI in Australia, which made four No. 1 country hits in Australia. Urban then relocated to Nashville in 1992 to chase the biggest country music market in the globe. Initially he played the front man for “The Ranch” and released an album in 1997 which was a hit. He later parted with the band to go solo.

In 2000, he made his American debut which included three top 5 hits. This also earned him the title of Top New Male Vocalist Award at the 2001 Academy of Country Music Awards. In 2002, Urban released Golden Road, which contained the smash hit single Somebody Like You. In 2004 “Be Here” was released and got nominated for the best country album at the Academy of Country Music Awards and the Grammy Awards.
Keith made his first arena tour “Keith Urban Be Here” with Katrina Elam as the opening act. In 2005, Keith continued through a highly successful tour with Elam “Alive”. He also sang in Live 8 Philadelphia concert in July 2005. Later in September 2005 he recorded “Livin’ Right Now” at the Wiltern Theater and released a successful DVD. In August 2006, Keith’s new single “Once in a Lifetime” debuted at no. 17 on Billboard’s country charts. This is a record for the highest debut for country single in the recent 62 years Billboard history.
