U2
U2, the Dublin, Ireland based rock band was formed in 1976. The members of the band include Bono, Adam Clayton, Larry Mullen, Jr., and The Edge. U2 became one of the top rated international acts in the mid-1980s. The band is well known for their anthemic sound, The Edge’s textural guitar playing and Bono’s impassioned vocals. Their 1987 album, The Joshua Tree was a big hit and raised their stature to superstars. The band has sold over 140 million albums globally. U2 have also won 22 Grammy Awards and was introduced to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005.
