The Nutcracker was composed in 1891–1892 as a fairy tale ballet by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and was commissioned by Imperial Theatres’ director Ivan Vsevolozhsky. The show then went on to become a big hit in the Western world and has conceivably become one of the most popular of ballets to be performed mostly during the Christmas season. Today, The Nutcracker is performed on most of the major theaters and concert hall across the globe. The ageless tale of The Nutcracker was thus given life by the amazing creativity of one of the leading Theater companies in Russia escorted by the celebrated Russian State Ballet Orchestra.
